DESCRIPTION

Muller & Barringer for Kittinger Coffee Table with Lacquer Top, Circa 1950

A striking circa-1950 coffee table designed by Muller & Barringer for Kittinger, featuring a low round silhouette and a wonderfully graphic lacquered top. The surface centers on an oversized scalloped medallion in richly mottled brown and copper tones, dramatically framed by a deep black border.

The combination of the organic central motif, glossy lacquer, and restrained circular form gives the table a sophisticated early modernist presence. Decorative without feeling fussy, it works beautifully in a mid-century, eclectic, or collected interior and has the kind of strong surface design that can anchor an entire seating area.
