Vintage Wood Cubby Bookcase & Display Shelf
A bookcase one way, a long display shelf the other. This vintage wood veneer cubby unit can be positioned vertically or horizontally, giving it two very different roles in a room. Upright, it draws the eye upward; laid on its side, it becomes a lower run of compartments with room for an arrangement above.
The separate compartments are the appeal: each creates a frame for a small collection rather than asking everything to share one long shelf. Alternate books with pieces of pottery, or give a section to a single color of glass. Leaving a few cubbies open will make the arrangement feel considered rather than crowded. Choose the orientation around your wall space and let the contents change as your collection grows.
