DESCRIPTION
Vintage Chinese-Style Black Lacquer Demilune Console
A half-moon curve and black lacquer are all this vintage console needs to make an entrance. The demilune outline offers a softer alternative to the straight run of a rectangular console, while its dark finish provides a striking backdrop for pale ceramics, stacked books, or a single branch-filled vase. Chinese-style design gives the piece its decorative identity without relying on bright color.
Let the curved form lead the arrangement. Place it beneath a large abstract work with a spare grouping of objects, or use it on a dining-room wall where a full-size sideboard would feel too dominant. The contrast of black lacquer with textured plaster, linen, or unglazed pottery brings out its character without turning the room into a matching scheme.
