DESCRIPTION
Vintage Italian Gilded-Base Occasional Table
A gilded Italian base gives this vintage occasional table its decorative lift. The warm metallic finish turns the support into the focal point, while the round format keeps the overall silhouette easy to place. It is the sort of small table that can introduce a little glamour without asking the rest of the room to follow suit.
We'd put it beside a simple upholstered chair or sofa and keep the top spare with a ceramic vessel, a lamp, or a few books. Mixed with linen, worn wood, or contemporary art, the gilded base feels less formal and more collected, adding a bright accent where a plain end table might disappear.
