1960’s Magazine Fashion Study by Sasha, Print on Canvas Art by Sasha Manukian
Sasha Manukian is a Los Angeles based artist who traces her lineage back to the former U.S.S.R. She was born in Moscow on Christmas Day in 1984 but her family emigrated to the United States four years later. This early, significant change presented a strong challenge for the young artist which fueled her desire for expression.
Caught between two worlds and born to a multicultural family (A cosmopolitan Russian mother and an Armenian father), Sasha is a living bridge between Eastern and Western culture and aesthetics. Her art necessarily combines mediums such as paints, fabrics, pottery, and glass to create tapestries, portraits, and objects of art that are intricate, urgent, and beautiful. She believes in the cross-pollination of art and regularly draws inspiration from music, ballet, film, poetry, and architecture.
